Corona del Mar's Xepoleas Advances to Tennis Semifinals

Senior Lynda Xepoleas won her Round of 16 and quarterfinal matches Thursday to advance to the semifinals of the CIF-Southern Section individual girls tennis championships on Friday at Seal Beach Tennis Center.

However, the Sage Hill doubles team of Katie Bick and Rian Billingsley was eliminated in the Round of 16 with a loss to University's Elika Fateri and Danielle Pham. Bick and Billingsley had won the Academy League's doubles title this season.

Xepoleas, who finished runner-up in Pacific Coast League singles this year, defeated West Covina sophomore Alexis Valenzuela, 6-0, 6-0, in the Round of 16 and Warren senior Nicole Kosakowski, 6-2, 6-1, in the quarterfinals.
