Costa Mesa Business Complex Burns In Early Morning Hours
Protests were not thought to be the cause of a fire that raced through several units of this Costa Mesa single-story building, officials say

COSTA MESA, CA — A single-story commercial building caught fire in the pre-dawn hours in Costa Mesa, officials reported. Five units in the commercial building were damaged in the Tuesday incident, but no one was injured.
The cause was not thought to be protest-related, according to investigators.
The extra-alarm blaze began at 3:30 a.m. at the 1500 block of MacArthur Boulevard in the 20-unit building, according to Costa Mesa Fire Capt. Joseph Noceti said. Over 60 firefighters extinguished the flames in about 20 minutes., then conducted mop-up activities at the scene.

The commercial building houses various businesses, including a woodworking operation, according to Noceti, who added that "the blaze torched three units, and two others sustained water and smoke damage."
