Ducks to Hold Balboa Pier Beach Party to Kickoff Playoff Run
The Anaheim Ducks to 'Paint it Orange' with a giant beach and watch party Sunday in Newport Beach.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA - The Anaheim Ducks will hold a beach party at the Balboa Pier in Newport Beach today to mark the start of their "Paint It Orange" campaign for the Stanley Cup playoffs.
The party will be held from 2:30-8 p.m. with fans having the opportunity to watch the telecast of the Ducks regular-season finale against the Washington Capitals on what is described as the largest Ducks rally towel.
The party will include face painting, a playoff-themed photo opportunity; "Paint It Orange" sand sculpture; DJ Jojo; and appearances by team mascot Wild Wing, the Power Players, who sweep the ice during stoppages in play and support the event presentation in other ways; and Ducks alumni.

There will also be drawings for prizes and other playoff-themed items.
The Paint It Orange campaign will also include a large "Let's Go Ducks" banner at the Newport Beach Pier and Discovery Cube Orange County, a "Paint It Orange Fountain" outside the Edwards Irvine Spectrum Theatre; Ducks signage throughout the Irvine Spectrum Center, Tustin Marketplace and Fashion Island.

Ducks signage will also be hung on Anaheim city buildings, the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center and Children's Hospital Orange County throughout the playoffs and on Orange County Transportation Authority buses throughout the playoffs.
A "Car Flag Rally" will be held from noon-2 p.m. Tuesday at Honda Center where fans paying $5 per flag will get their flag personally placed on their car by Wild Wing and the Power Players.
The Stanley Cup Playoffs open Wednesday. The Ducks first-round opponent will not be determined until the conclusion of today's game.
