Estranged Husband Arrested In Newport Beach Woman's Cliff Death

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — A man was arrested more than two months after a Newport Beach woman was found dead in a Southern California mountain community, KTLA 5 reported.

The woman, identified as 58-year-old Aryan Papoli, was found about 75 feet down a steep embankment in Crestline on Nov. 18, 2025. Her cause of death was not immediately apparent.

On Saturday, San Bernardino County deputies said that during the course of the investigation, the coroner determined Papoli's manner of death to be homicide. Her estranged husband, Gordon Abas Goodarzi, was identified as a suspect, the report said.
