Firefighters Dodge Bullets from Exploding Ammunition in Newport Beach House Fire
No one was injured, but firefighters had to battle exploding ammunition Saturday as they worked to put out a fire on Via Koron.

A fire broke out in a single-family house in Newport Beach today, and although ammunition in the home exploded while firefighters battled the flames, no one was injured, authorities said.
The blaze was reported at 2:57 p.m. in the 100 block of Via Koron, a fire department dispatcher said.
Nine units responded and had the fire out by 3:30 p.m., according to the dispatcher.
