Orange County officials issued a flood watch for county coastal cities, including Newport Beach. Here's what to know.
NEWPORT BEACH, CA — County officials issued a flash flood warning for Newport Beach residents as a powerful winter storm brings clouds, wind and rain to Southern California.
The flash flood warning will remain in place from early Tuesday morning through Wednesday morning, with the heaviest rainfall expected to occur Tuesday afternoon and early evening.
Residents are encouraged to monitor later forecasts and be on the alert for emergency notifications.

To prepare for the coming storm, Newport Beach residents may pick up 10 sand bags at the City Corporation Yard located at 592 Superior Avenue. Residents are asked to bring proof of residency.
