Former Marine From South OC Who Firebombed Clinic Sentenced
The former U.S. Marine firebombed a Planned Parenthood clinic in Costa Mesa in 2022 while he was stationed at Camp Pendleton.
COSTA MESA, CA — A former Marine who firebombed a Planned Parenthood clinic in Orange County two years ago was sentenced to nine years in federal prison on Monday, The Orange County Register reported.
24-year-old Chance Brannon, of San Juan Capistrano, has been in custody for more than a year after he and an accomplice threw a Molotov cocktail at the front entrance of the clinic in 2022, the report said. The act of arson was committed while Brannon was stationed at Camp Pendleton.
According to the report, Brannon and his accomplice, 23-year-old Irvine resident Tibet Ergul, were turned in after a witness who had seen FBI-released security footage reported the two men to authorities.
