Waking up with the waves on Friday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Newport Beach Patch surf report. Well, there's definitely no shortage of surf, that's for sure!! Yep, the solid energy is sticking with us for another day.
We're starting off with some pretty clean conditions, with some spots seeing some texture on it. We have mostly continued pumping southerly swell and very little if any northwest energy. That recipe is providing this stretch of sand with some racy semi-wally lines, with some really good hollow lefthanders.
Most Newport Beach spots are running about shoulder high to overhead plus, with the standout south facing breaks pulling waves a few feet overhead plus. FYI: Those south-facing beaches are definitely going to have a really strong current pulling to the north, so plan on doing a lot of paddling!!

Checking the tides ... at 6:28 early this morning it drained out to a negative 1.0 low, which will have many spots desperate for water early to mid-morning. Your best bet comes once that tide turns around and fills in a bit. It eventually climbs up to a 3.8 high at 1:12 this afternoon.
If you're going to get out there and grab a session, throw on at least a 3/2 fullsuit, with the water temperature hanging between 58 and 60 degrees. Have fun out there!
