Fundraiser to Prevent Child Abuse Goes Virtual

Priority Center to Hold Virtual "Luncheon" to Raise Funds for anti-abuse programs and services

NEWPORT BEACH, CALIF. – Due to COVID-19 and the need for social distancing, The Priority Center of Orange County will hold its first “Women of Priority” event via video conference on Thursday, June 25, at 2 p.m. The Priority Center was formerly known as the Child Abuse Prevention Center.

Previously scheduled as a luncheon, the Women of Priority event is forging ahead as a virtual “luncheon” without the food. Keynote speaker for the fundraiser will be Newport Beach resident Rhonda Sciortino, author, child advocate and national speaker on the subject of child abuse as well as how to find purpose and positivity in your own life. The chair for the event is Newport Beach philanthropist Catherine Sorensen. Ticket price for the online event is $25.00. To register, visit www.theprioritycenter.org or call 714-543-4333.

The Priority Center’s mission is to deliver life-changing programs to provide individuals, families and children with the tools and support necessary to end the generational cycle of trauma. The center currently offers 10 programs ranging from infant and toddler in-home visitation programs to in-home crisis stabilization for children and adults experiencing a mental health crisis including suicidal or homicidal thoughts. Since its founding in 1983, the nonprofit organization has provided services to more than 300,000 children, parents and individual adults from all walks of life in Orange County.
