Garden Grove Man, Child Fatally Struck By Pickup Truck
A Garden Grove man and a 6-year-old boy were killed by a motorist Saturday night. The coroner released the identity of the man Monday.

GARDEN GROVE, CA — A 61-year-old Garden Grove man and a 6-year-old child were struck and killed in Garden Grove over the weekend.
Jorge Molina, 61, a Garden Grove resident, died in the crash, Supervising Deputy Coroner Erica Arellano said. The 6-year-old was also pronounced dead at the scene, Orange County Fire Authority Captain Larry Kurtz said.
The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene,according to Garden Grove police.

The crash happened near the intersection of Garden Grove Boulevard and Benton Street, Garden Grove Police Lt. Carl Whitney said.
The motorist was driving a pickup truck when he struck the pedestrians. It was not known if they were in a crosswalk at the time of the collision.

"The driver of the vehicle involved stayed at the location and waited for emergency personnel to arrive," Whitney said. "There were no passengers in the truck, and the driver was evaluated by officers."
The pickup truck driver showed no signs of impairment, and the investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the collision, according to Whitney.
