Gas Prices Spike - Find the Cheapest Gas Around Newport Beach
News of a refinery strike in Carson has fueled a price spike in Orange County.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Orange County rose nine-tenths of a cent today to 2.669 after increasing by more than 3 cents each of the previous five days.
The Orange County average price has risen 10 consecutive days and is 21.3 cents higher than one week ago and 4.6 cents more than one month ago.
However, it is $1.014 lower than one year ago thanks to 23 decreases in 24 days immediately before the current string of increases began.

The rising pump prices are caused by a sharp increase in the wholesale price “likely on news of a strike at the Tesoro refinery in Carson,” said Jeffrey Spring, the corporate communications manager of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
