Great Blue Heron Of Balboa Island: Photo Of The Day
This striking photo was taken by a Newport Beach photographer while venturing out for a walk around Balboa Island.
NEWPORT BEACH, CA — Great blue herons are a common sight on the shores of Balboa Island in Newport Beach, and one local photographer couldn't help but appreciate the beauty of one bird in particular.
Resident Edie Noesser was taking her regular walk around Balboa Island when she saw this striking bird perched on a sign.
"I frequently see these great blue herons in the area, but for this one I had to go back and get my camera," Edie told Patch. "I love how the bird's elegance sort of contrasted with the storm drain sign."
