1 Killed On Coast Highway Crash In Newport Beach

The crash was reported on Pacific Coast Highway, near Crystal Cove in Newport Beach, the Newport Beach Police Department reported.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — One person was killed after two vehicles collided on Pacific Coast Highway in Newport Beach, authorities said Wednesday.

Officers were dispatched to the area of Pacific Coast Highway and Crystal Cove at 10:16 a.m. Wednesday. Upon arriving, officers found a white sedan and a white truck that were involved in a traffic crash.

Newport Beach firefighters and Laguna Beach firefighters responded to the scene and moved both drivers to a local trauma center for medical treatment, where the driver of the white sedan was pronounced dead. Their name was not released pending next-of-kin notification.

The status of the other motorist is not currently known.
