Injured Man Rescued After Falling In Trench In South OC

The construction worker had fallen into an open dirt area below street level in Emerald Bay, the Orange County Fire Authority reported.

EMERALD BAY, CA — A construction worker was saved thanks to the teamwork of three different fire agencies Monday.

Orange County Fire Authority, Laguna Beach and Newport Beach firefighters were dispatched to Emerald Bay in response to reports of a construction worker who had fallen into an open dirt area below street level.

The three agencies worked together to execute rescue implementing the truck ladder. Emergency paramedics then quickly treated and moved the person to the hospital with moderate injuries.
