Injuries Reported In 4-Vehicle Crash On 55 Freeway Friday Afternoon

The crash closed three lanes on the freeway and backed up southbound traffic for at least five miles as of 11 a.m. Friday.

SANTA ANA, CA — At least one person was injured in a four-vehicle crash was reported on the California State route 55 freeway traveling through Santa Ana Friday morning, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The crash was reported at 10:33 a.m. on the freeway traveling southbound near Dyer Road.

According to preliminary reports, at least one person was injured in the crash. Their status was not known.

The crash blocked three lanes of the freeway and prompted California Highway Patrol officials to issue a SigAlert at 10:52 a.m.

Motorists on that part of the freeway found themselves locked in snarled traffic for a grueling five-mile stretch of the road.
