Johnson Attorneys Group Awards $250 Scholarship to Coastline Paralegal Student

Newport Beach law firm created scholarship to benefit students participating in paralegal studies at Coastline College.

COSTA MESA, California (May 17, 2017) -- Rebecca Rangel (pictured on left), a Coastline College paralegal student was recently awarded a $250 paralegal scholarship from Johnson Attorneys Group in Newport Beach.

Rangel, a mother of three from Garden Grove, was one of 266 students to receive scholarships on Thursday, May 4th at the annual scholarship awards night. Susan Schaben (pictured on right), a marketing specialist at Johnson Attorneys Group, presented the paralegal scholarship on behalf of the local law firm.

The Foundation at Coastline College awarded 293 scholarships among the students for the 2016/2017 academic year for a total of $136,400. The awards, which ranged from $250 to $5,000 were handed out on Thursday night at a "May the 4th be with you" Star Wars-themed ceremony held at the Orange Coast College Robert Moore Theater.

The college attracts a diverse group of students with programs that include distance learning, active duty military and spouses and incarcerated students.

"We are delighted to participate in supporting these students,” said Attorney James Johnson. “They should be proud of their accomplishments and we wish them the best for the future.”
