Man, 60, Attacked On PCH Sidewalk And 'Badly Injured,' Police Say

CORONA DEL MAR, CA — A 60-year-old man was badly injured after he was attacked on the sidewalk off Pacific Coast Highway in Corona del Mar, The Orange County Register reported.

Officers arrived to the scene on Pacific Coast Highway near Crystal Cove State Park on Monday at around noon and found the victim unconscious on the sidewalk with a laceration to the head and an apparent punch to the face.

Shortly after, Newport Beach police officers arrested 28-year-old Steven Solis, of Santa Ana, who had fled the scene but was nearby. The motive is under investigation.
