Continuing to bring notable artists working in the New-Contemporary movement, Marcas Gallery hosts a three hour painting seminar with special effects makeup-artist and digital animator, Chet Zar. Zar is notable for producing artistic music videos for the popular American rock band, ‘TOOL’. Zar began his career working in the special effects industry and with the collected advice from horror-fiction writer Clive Barker, he decided to leave the special effects industry and pursue a career in painting.

During the focused seminar, Zar will discuss and demonstrate techniques in oil painting emphasizing the beginning stages of under-painting, layering and final completion. Zar will provide attendees a focused understanding of his process from start to finish. A nominal fee of $100 with Limited Capacity available.

Public Painting Demonstration

Saturday, August 22nd 8pm to 11pm

In line with its vision to support artistic diversity and public interaction within the arts, Marcas Gallery & Trekell Fine Art Supplies, invite seven New-Contemporary artists in different disciplines to paint in front of a public audience. The artists will be fielding questions about themselves as artists, their work methods enriching the art experience and motivating public awareness. These events strip down the walls of the private artist studio and bring the public up close and personal to a moment that is commonly only experienced via social media. The partnership between Marcas Contemporary & Trekell Fine Art Supplies is based on their similar humble beginnings and desire to provide quality experiences to artists and the public.
