McCarthy Awarded for Stellar Performance

McCarthy Building Cos. Inc. in Newport Beach has another award to add to its collection.

The contracting company was recently honored with an award for outstanding performance by the California Council for Excellence. McCarthy was the only general contractor that has received one of the nonprofit council's California Awards for Performance Excellence (CAPE), which recognizes superior performance in various business areas, including leadership, strategic planning, customer and market focus, measurement, analysis, workforce focus and process management.

“We are pleased to be recognized as a CAPE winner along with other prestigious recipients, including premier health care and education institutions,” said Chad Dorgan, McCarthy vice president. “McCarthy’s integrative and team-based approach to quality, our community, and our employees has positioned us as best in class, not just in construction, but in all industries in California.”

McCarthy, founded in 1864, says it takes a personalized approach to employee training and development; it earned a spot on the 2011 Training Top 125 list.
