Monday Surf Report

Backing down, but still super fun.

Waking up with the waves on Monday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Newport Beach Patch surf report.  Well, it's backing down a bit, but there are still plenty of playful waves along this stretch of sand!  So, go grab a few before you make your way into work.

The conditions are nice and glassy early on, with a combination of fading energy.  We're seeing mainly south-southwest swell and some smaller west-northwest and northwest energy.

That recipe is offering some fast and fairly broken-up lines, with plenty of rippable shoulders.   Most Newport Beach spots are running about knee- to stomach-high, with the top combo breaks pulling a few chest-high sets.

At 10:59 a.m. the tide drops to a 0.3 low which will have some spots lacking water late morning.  The tide then climbs back up to a 3.4 high at 6:18 this evening.

If you're planning on paddling, break out at least a 3/2 fullsuit with the water temperature averaging between 57 and 59 degrees.  See ya in the water.
