Monday Surf Report

Eddie conditions early on.

Waking up with the waves on Monday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Newport Beach Patch surf report.  Well, I'd have to say that it's looking marginal at best.  Yep, we're seeing the return of the marine layer and that's bringing some variable wind with it.

The ocean surface is already seeing some bump or light chop on it early on.  Taking a look at the waves...we've got a small mixture of swells in the water.

There's some lingering northwest windswell and some new south southwest energy beginning to fill-in.  That recipe is offering some fast, crumbly and bumpy lines, with a few decent shoulders.

Most Newport Beach spots are running about knee- to waist-high, with the focal points pulling some stomach high sets.  Taking a look at those tides: At 10:24 this morning it pushes up to a 4.6 high and then drains out to a 0.8 low at 3:48 this afternoon.

If you're going to get wet, you can throw on a 3/2 fullsuit, with the water temperature averaging between 58 and 60 degrees.  Good luck out there!
