Motorcycle Rider Killed On PCH In Newport Beach

Police were diverting eastbound PCH traffic Saturday amid the investigation into the fatal crash.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — A motorcyclist was killed Saturday in a crash on Pacific Coast Highway in Newport Beach, leaving lanes of the busy thoroughfare closed for a lengthy investigation.

The crash occurred at 2:54 p.m. Saturday on eastbound PCH at Newport Boulevard, according to Newport Beach Police Department Lt. E. Little.

It appeared the motorcycle was the only vehicle in the crash, Little said. An investigation was underway to determine whether any other vehicles were involved.

Police were diverting eastbound PCH traffic onto Superior Avenue during the investigation, he said.
