New Coastkeeper Board Member Focuses On Sustainability
A Newport Beach businesswoman joins the Orange County Coastkeepers board of directors.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — Newport Beach resident Janice Scalfani joins Orange County Coastkeeper as their newest board member. A local sales leader with a passion for sustainability, Scalfani will help carry out their mission: to provide leadership toward protecting the region's water resources, so they are swimmable, drinkable, fishable, and sustainable for present and future generations.
Newport Beach resident Janice Sclafani has joined the Coastkeeper, a spokesperson for the organization announced. The nonprofit environmental organization advocates for Orange County's water, with programs targeting watershed education, marine restoration, water conservation, and water quality enforcement.
Sclafani has experience in community leadership, strong enthusiasm for environmental conservation, and secure communication and fundraising skills. As a member of the Board, she will help develop comprehensive solutions to environmental issues that affect everyone in the community.

"We are delighted to have Janice join our Board of Directors," Garry Brown, director and founder of the Orange County Coastkeepers said. "As a boat enthusiast, Janice has a passion for our coastal resources and habitats. She has spent her career in the paper industry on environmental sustainability and will bring an added perspective to our Board."
A native Californian, Sclafani was born and raised in Tustin and for the local waters. She is Regional Vice President of Sales, Essity Professional Hygiene - West U.S., and has been called "a results-driven sales leader." For 32-years, she has enjoyed a career in sustainable paper manufacturing. Her expertise is in corporate operations, sales management has and training, as well as enhancement of supply chains and alternative distribution channels.

"Almost my entire career, I have worked for paper organizations where national and community sustainability is the core to corporate ethics," Sclafani said. "It is my wish to continue to assist Coastkeeper with shaping sustainable policy along with our municipal and manufacturing partner over time, I look forward to shaping my goals as I understand how I can better contribute to the organization."
Sclafani has a proven capability to implement change, lead new business initiatives, and effectively influence corporate policy, they said. "We believe her professional experience, along with her passion for sustainability, will benefit our shared mission here at Coastkeeper."
