NEWPORT BEACH, CA — What is your New Year's resolution for 2020? For many, it's getting up and getting active. But there is no reason for you to spend the money on joining a gym in Orange County! not when the great outdoors is beckoning from Orange County Parks.

The OC Parks folks shared their January 2020 Events Calendar for all OC Parks venues with Patch, including regional, wilderness and historical parks, sites, and beaches.

Some highlight activities this month include:

  • January 4 - Wilderness Access Day at Black Star Canyon Wilderness Park
  • January 4 - Modjeska's Holiday Open House at Arden: Helena Modjeska Historic House and Gardens
  • January 5 - Santiago Oaks Guided Nature Hike at Santiago Oaks Regional Park
  • January 18 - Irvine Regional Park Fishing Derby at Irvine Regional Park
  • January 18 - Star Light, Star Bright Night Hike at Carbon Canyon Regional Park

Start right away in Newport Beach on January 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 – Wild Tales! Share this adventure with your kids from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.

Bring your little wild ones to learn about nature and enjoy the outdoors. Join us for a fun-filled parent and child experience that includes storytelling, a guided nature walk and arts and crafts.

Special Instructions: Trails are sandy/muddy, so wear closed-toe shoes and clothing
suitable for the outdoors. Strollers are not recommended on the trails. Program and crafts are tailored for preschool level (ages 2-5); however, all ages are welcome to attend.
