Newport Beach Among Safest California Cities To Raise A Child
These southern California cities ranked high in the Safewise 2019 report on the 50 Safest Cities to Raise A Family.
NEWPORT BEACH, CA — Newport Beach is among the top safest cities in California — and the 48th safest nationwide — to raise a child, according to SafeWise's 2019 report on the "50 Safest Cities to Raise a Child." The report looked at statistics such as violent crime rates, sex offender rates, property crime rates, and graduation rates, among others.
San Ramon was the safest California city, ranking at 7 on the list of safe cities, and Irvine ranked as the 10th safest city to raise a child in California.
San Ramon achieved an overall safety score of 94.40 (out of a possible 100, and was bested by the following cities:
