The Bond Fire in Silverado Canyon has created unhealthy air quality conditions throughout Newport Beach as a result of winds pushing large amounts of smoke and ash toward the City.

Residents are advised to limit outdoor activity as much as possible to minimize health risks, especially for those with compromised lung and heart conditions.

The Newport Beach Fire Dept. has sent two fire engines to assist in mutual aid. City fire stations are fully staffed and prepared to send more equipment and personnel as needed.
