Newport Beach City Council Signs Off On ADU Amendments: Report
The amendments to the city's guidelines on accessory dwelling units also include suggestions made by the California Coastal Commission.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — The Newport Beach City Council approved amendments on Feb. 22 to the city's guidelines on accessory dwelling units within coastal zones, the Daily Pilot reported.
The amendments include suggestions made by the California Coastal Collision and remove the minimum lot size required for an ADU. An ADU is a type of small home or apartment that shares the same lot as a single-family home, according to the Pilot.
There are about 90 such "granny flats" in Newport Beach, the Pilot reported.
