Newport Beach Firefighters Deployed To Fight SoCal Fires

Two Newport Beach Fire Department engines were deployed this week to battle against the Palisades and Eaton fires.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — Newport Beach firefighters were hard at work this week, after two Newport Beach Fire Department engines were deployed to battle fires raging in Los Angeles County.

According to the city, NE65 from Station 5 and the NBFD's OES engine from Station 6 are currently deployed to battle quick-moving flames from the Palisades Fire and Eaton Fire.

Battalion 65 is also leading a team of nine NBFD firefighters, who worked exhaustively through the night in challenging conditions.

The deployment comes after the Palisades Fire, burning in West Los Angeles, charred over 5,000 acres. The Eaton Fire, burning near Pasadena, had burned through 2,000 acres as of 8 a.m. Wednesday.

No fires have been reported in Orange County as of 11 a.m. Wednesday.
