Newport Beach: National Prescription Drug Take Back Day
Here's how to properly dispose of unwanted, unused and expired medications properly this weekend across Orange County, in and around Newport

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — It's that time of year again. Bring your unwanted, unused and expired prescription medications to a drug collection center near you. The National Prescription Medication Take Back Day will take place Saturday, Oct. 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
In Newport Beach, the Newport Beach Police Department will be on hand at the NBPD Oasis Senior Center overflow lot at 5th Avenue and Marguerite Avenue, as well as at the Hoag Hospital Lower Campus Parking Lot at 1 Hoag Drive.
Locations across Orange County include Anaheim, Laguna Hills, Laguna Woods, Lake Forest, Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, Rossmoor, San Juan Capistrano, Unincorporated Orange County, and Yorba Linda, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

The collection locations serve the cities of Aliso Viejo, Dana Point, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Woods, Lake Forest, Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, Stanton, Villa Park, Yorba Linda as well as the unincorporated communities of Coto de Caza, Ladera Ranch, Los Flores, Rossmoor and Wagon Wheel, the OCSD said.
Please do not bring sharps to this collection, they said. The event will be held rain or shine.
