Newport Beach Vegetation Fire Disrupts Neighborhood
An early evening brush fire left neighbors worried, while firefighters from four cities responded to the blaze.
NEWPORT BEACH, CA — A brush fire broke out Tuesdays, June 13 in Newport Beach's open space near the corner of Miguel and Pacific View. The smoke was seen at approximately 6:30 p.m. and firefighters responded to the scene.
The area near the vegetation fire is circled by homes, none of which were damaged or in immediate danger by the event. There were no injuries reported to either firefighters or residents.
Ten engines from the Newport Beach Fire Department, Orange County Fire Authority, Costa Mesa Fire Department and Laguna Beach Fire Department responded to the location and made quick work of extinguishing the blaze.

Many neighbors and residents rushed to social media to determine the cause and severity of the fire. Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
An hour later, the fire was out, save for mop-up work by the Newport Beach Fire Department.
