OC Chiropractor Charged In Workman's Comp Fraud

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — A Newport Beach chiropractor, along with four other southern California chiropractors were scheduled to be arraigned Thursday on multiple felony counts of insurance fraud, the Orange County District Attorney's Office said.

The OCDA has alleged the men are part of a multi-million dollar workers' compensation insurance referral scheme that exploited mostly Spanish-speaking communities.

Charged Tuesday in Superior Court in Santa Ana were chiropractors Afsoun Naderi, 50 of Newport Coast; Fermin Alexander Iglesias, 38 of Glendale; Bahar Danesh Gharib, 42, of Woodland Hills; Bryan Aun, 45, of Brea; and Jon Larson, 45, of Rancho Cucamonga, according to the OCDA's office.

All five men are due for arraignment Thursday on charges of insurance fraud and face sentences ranging from 11 to 14 years in state prison if convicted as charged.

Ten attorneys and six conspirators were charged last year as part of the same investigation, prosecutors said.
