OC Community Foundation Gives Boys & Girls Clubs Across OC Extra Boost

The foundation raised almost $400,000 to support 12 Boys & Girls Clubs throughout Orange County during an online fundraising event.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — Boys & Girls Clubs across Orange County just got an extra cash boost, after the Orange County Community Foundation raised $396,342 from 458 donors for 12 Boys & Girls Clubs in OC during its online giving day event "Greatness Amplified," held on Aug. 24.

The funds will be dispersed across the 12 sites to support their vital missions on behalf of Orange County youth, according to a news release.

"With the academic progress of so many students at risk, the efforts of experienced youth-serving organizations like the Boys & Girls Clubs are more crucial than ever," an Orange County Community Foundation news release said. "Boys & Girls Clubs empower youth to excel in school and positively contribute to their communities through engaging programs focused on academics, health and leadership."

The funds were raised through a collaborative online giving day held by the foundation titled "Greatness Amplified," an annual initiative that relegates cause-specific giving days focused on community issues.
