OCC’s Dance Season Opener Showcases Faculty, Student Talent
Orange Coast College's dance department will present its annual Faculty Dance Concert on Oct. 28 at 7:30 p.m.

Orange Coast College’s dance department will present its annual Faculty Dance Concert on Oct. 28 at 7:30 p.m. in the Robert B. Moore Theatre. The evening will feature an exciting and fun variety of dances, ranging from Middle Eastern to hip hop, flamenco, modern, and contemporary ballet; all dances are choreographed by current and former OCC dance faculty members.
“The annual Faculty Dance Concert features OCC’s own talented dance students performing original and innovative works choreographed by the College’s professional dance faculty,” says instructor Jose Costas. “Performances will be in vibrant and spirited venues of jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop and flamenco dance forms.”
This year’s roster will include a guest performance by dancers from Gabe Copeland’s tap Company Tap Overload. Forty students will perform, and many OCC Dance alumni who now attend dance programs at four-year universities throughout the state — including UC Irvine, Cal State Fullerton and Long Beach State — are expected to return as guests.
