One Dies In Fatal Newport Beach Crash
A driver navigating a dramatic curve on Pacific Coast Highway died after crashing into a building, authorities say.
NEWPORT BEACH, CA — One person was killed when a car crashed into a commercial building on Pacific Coast Highway in Newport Beach and burst into flames, authorities said Monday.
Late Sunday night, a driver navigating a "dramatic curve on PCH and 61st Street" lost control of their vehicle, Newport Beach police Sgt. B. Gregson said. "The driver of the was westbound at the time of the crash."
A body, presumed to be the driver, was found inside the remains of the vehicle when firefighters put out the flames, Gregson said.

The age and gender of the victim were not available, he said.
Westbound lanes of PCH in the area were closed for the investigation and clean-up.
