Paper Shredding, Compost Event In Newport Beach: Save The Date

Newport Beach residents are encouraged to ditch their sensitive documents and get some free compost at the upcoming event.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — The city's plans to host another free compost giveaway and paper shredding event are well underway, and Newport Beach residents were urged to mark their calendars in advance for Saturday, May 4.

Newport Beach residents are urged to bring documents for shredding, and residents can also pick up free bags of compost from 8 a.m. to noon — while supplies last.

Residents are allowed to bring up to 10 standard file boxes for shredding, the city said. Residents were also asked to bring proof of residency to the event.

Residents were prohibited from bringing household hazardous waste such as paint and cleaning products, universal waste including batteries, light bulbs, sharps, marine flares, microwaves and thermostats to the drop-off event.

The event will be held from 8 a.m. to noon at the Corporation Yard, 592 Superior Ave.
