COSTA MESA, CA — Several parents voiced their frustrations Tuesday to the Newport-Mesa Unified School District trustees, saying that a group of fifth-grade "bullies" at California Elementary School in Costa Mesa have been tormenting students and teachers on campus, the Daily Pilot reported.

According to the report, parents of California Elementary School took to the board's meeting on Tuesday to ask administrators to discipline a group of fifth-graders that they claim disrupt learning, harass and intimidate students and have caused teachers to leave their classrooms in tears.

The students, who were not named during the meeting, apparently caused a fourth-grade teacher to take a mental health leave, parents said.
