The accolade was given by the readers of luxury travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler.

Newport Beach's Pelican Hill Resort has gone straight to the top in just three short years, recently being named the best resort in the country.

The readers of Condé Nast Traveler—a luxury travel magazine—ranked the Irvine Co.'s resort as the best nationwide. The prestigious award was given during the magazine's Readers’ Choice Awards held Oct. 10 in Manhattan. NBC News journalist and author Tom Brokaw—a frequent Pelican Hill guest—presented the award.
