Police Activity In Newport Neighborhood: Suspect Arrested

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — Some residents in Newport Beach woke up to a police presence in their neighborhood Thursday morning, the Newport Beach Police Department said.
The police presence was reported near Dover and Westcliff drives at around 8:30 a.m. Thursday morning, police said. The activity prompted NBPD to issue a community advisory via Twitter, and residents were told to shelter in place or stay out of the area while the investigation continued.
During the investigation, officers arrested one suspect on suspicion of stealing a vehicle.
