Mother-Daughter Duo Opens Lifestyle Boutique in CDM
The store was created by Tamara and Britt Delano to bring transitional active wear to the busy Newport Beach woman.
A new boutique designed to help dress women who spend their day shuffling between a busy schedule recently opened its doors in Corona del Mar.
Delano Lifestyle Activewear -- located at 2801 East Coast Highway which was previously occupied by the controversial -- was created by CDM natives Tamara Delano and her daughter, Britt.
“The space was totally gutted when we took over and then we came in and made it our own,” Tamara Delano explained. “Everything is great so far and we have been well received by the community with many locals coming to shop”.

The Delanos say they began designing and manufacturing lifestyle active wear to fill a void in the industry. Although there’s no shortage of active wear in the stores, there is a shortage of transitional clothes, according to the Delanos. The idea came about because they couldn’t find workout-wear that could transition into street-wear because the styles were too sporty. So Delano's active wear was designed with versatility in mind. For example, women can go from working out to lunch and dinner without looking like they just visited the gym.
The Delanos place a special emphasis on the fit and quality of their clothes. They use the best quality Supplex fabric from Brazil, and metal zippers from Switzerland although the manufacturing remains in the USA. Supplex fabric is a high quality performance fabric, giving the feel of cotton with advanced fiber technology to include water and wind resistant properties. The styles and colors offered at Delano also have the ability to layer and mix and match.
