Residents Urged To Sign Up For New Emergency Notification System
The Newport Beach Police Department will no longer send out alerts via Nixle starting April 12. What to know.
NEWPORT BEACH, CA — The way Newport Beach residents receive emergency notifications is scheduled to change this month, the Newport Beach Police Department reported.
Starting Friday, April 12, the NBPD will no longer send out emergency alerts through Nixle. Moving forward, the department will issue all alerts through Newport Notified, the city's new emergency notification system.
Residents can register for Newport Notified to receive crime alerts, traffic advisories, community updates and emergency notifications by signing up via this link.
