Restaurant Worker Dies Near South Coast Plaza

COSTA MESA, CA — A man died after falling off a ladder at a restaurant in Costa Mesa Saturday morning, authorities said.

Authorities were dispatched shortly before 8 a.m. to the 3300 block of Bristol Street for a report of a man with severe head trauma, according to the Costa Mesa Fire Department.

The man, a restaurant employee at Maggiona's Little Italy restaurant, had fallen off the roof while climbing down a ladder, authorities said.

He was declared dead at the scene. His name was not immediately released, though authorities said he was 32 years old.

Maggiano’s area director, Karna Patel, confirmed to The Orange County Register that the restaurant was the site of the accident.
