RI DOH Reccomends Reopening Newport Beaches
The RIDOH recommended reopening Hazard's Beach and Gooseberry Beach in Newport because bacteria levels had returned to safe levels Friday.

NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI — A potentially busy summer weekend could turn into a bust at Town Beach in North Kingstown this weekend after the Rhode Island Department of Health recommended the closing the beach to swimming on Friday due to high bacteria levels.
On Friday, the RIDOH recommended reopening Hazard's Beach and Gooseberry Beach in Newport because bacteria levels had returned to safe levels.
The announcement of the determinations was made early Friday evening.

The RIDOH said they will monitor and review beach water quality to determine whether the status of the beach can change.
