Sewage Spill: 3,600 Gallons Of Sewage Closed This Harbor Beach

A blockage caused 3,600 gallons of sewage to spill into a north Orange County beach on Saturday.

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA — Two areas of Huntington Harbor in Huntington Beach were closed to swimming due to a sewage spill, the Orange County Health Care Agency's Environmental Health division said. The sections of beach were shut down the harbor water area at Sunset Aquatic Marino and Portofino cove on Saturday.

The spill of about 3,600 gallons was caused by a blockage in a sewer main line owned by Anaheim, according to the health agency.

The affected area will remain closed to ocean water contact sports until the results of follow-up water quality monitoring returns to normal levels, according to the health agency.
