Shopping Bags Stolen from Costa Mesa Car Over the Weekend: Did you see anything?

A car was robbed as a woman was shopping in Costa Mesa discovered on Sunday afternoon.

COSTA MESA, CA — Police are still investigating a theft that occurred at a local Costa Mesa Shopping Center.

A woman who was shopping int he 2300 Harbor Boulevard shopping center exited a store to find a 20-year-old looking man rifling through her car and purchases, according to Sgt. Doug Johnson of the Costa Mesa Police. He shoved her and fled, according to a report from the OC Times.

That shopping area consists of an Albertson's Grocery Store, HomeGoods, Home Depot and Office Depot, among other restaurants and banks.

"The woman tried to confront the man as he got out of the car carrying two shopping bags," Johnson said. "It is not yet known how much the retail items in the (stolen) bags were worth."

The man pushed her and ran away and the woman was unharmed.
