Four Injured In Newport Boulevard Multi-Car Crash
Drivers were asked to avoid Newport Boulevard and 19th Street in Costa Mesa after a multi-car crash, Monday morning.

COSTA MESA, CA — Four people were injured Monday in a five-car traffic collision at Newport Boulevard and 19th Street.
Costa Mesa Police blocked off the road, midday, allowing for the fire department to take the four victims to local trauma centers.
The jaws of life were used on one car, to extract a trapped victim, Costa Mesa Fire Capt. Joseph Noceti reported.

According to police, no one was killed in the violent crash, though blocked lanes "might cause traffic congestion to surrounding streets and the 55" for an unknown period of time.
Authorities asked drivers to avoid the area due to heavy congestion. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, according to officials.
