Small Brush Fire Ignites Near Bartlett Park
A small brush fire was being worked by Huntington Beach Fire, near Bartlett Park, Thursday.
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA — Huntington Beach Fire Department reported to the scene of a small brush fire near Adams Avenue and Beach Boulevard mid-morning, Thursday. The fire began just before 10:30 a.m. and nearby residents tweeted pictures of the rapidly growing brusher.
The fire, centered at Bartlett Park, forced brief evacuations at the Newland Center shopping center while emergency vehicles responded to douse fire, Huntington Beach police said.
Wind at just before 11 a.m. was blowing at just under 20-miles per hour as helicopters arrived to perform water drops. Orange County Fire Authority and Huntington Beach Fire Department worked jointly to bring the blaze under control.
