Soaring Temperatures Hit OC, Beach Weather Forecasted In Newport Beach

Temperatures in inland Orange County are expected to reach up to 100 degrees this week, with summertime weather hitting the coast.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA —Another sweltering heat wave is headed to Orange County, and residents can expect scorching temperatures in inland Orange County and summertime beach weather on the coast.

The National Weather Service issued an Excessive Heat Watch from Monday through Tuesday for all inland Orange County cities.

Away from the coast, temperatures will climb to 100 starting Monday, according to AccuWeather.

On the coast, temperatures are projected to be cooler this week. Coastal residents can expect temperatures ranging from the mid to high '80s, according to AccuWeather.

The heat advisory was issued by the National Weather Service and will remain in effect from 10 a.m. Monday to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

"Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun and check up on relatives and neighbors," the NWS wrote in a statement. "Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances."

Residents were also urged to take precautions when spending time outside, and to reschedule strenuous activities when possible to the early morning or evening.
