Sunsets Still The Stuff Of Dreams In Newport Beach: Patch Photos
Newport Beach resident John Dickenson paused to capture a pic of a recent sunset when blazes of orange, pink lit up the evening sky.
NEWPORT BEACH, CA — For the past 26 years, John Dickenson and his wife have lived their dream in Newport Beach. Even though they are housebound at the moment, due to the coronavirus shutdown, the sight right outside his back door remains breathtaking.
This week, he paused to capture a blazing sunset on camera.
"When I saw this explosion of color in the sky, I was awestruck, yet torn," he told us. John wanted to take as many pictures as possible, but also wanted to stop and experience that "glorious couple of minutes, live."
The Dickenson's live about six miles from their son, though it could be a million miles away, he says.

"I guess I feel the same as we all do during the shutdown," he said. "We all are missing loved ones."
One way to feel closer to one another is to remember we're all under the same big sky.
