Suspect Arrested In Citibank Robbery: Newport Beach
On Wednesday, officers arrested a San Marcos resident suspected of bank robbery. Witnesses sought, NBPD says.
NEWPORT BEACH, CA — A San Marcos man was arrested on suspicion of robbing a Newport Beach Citibank in early February, according to officials.
Wednesday, the Newport Beach Police Department served a search warrant and arrested
Marco Antonio Rodriguez Arango, 23, for the crime of Bank Robbery, a department spokesperson said.
Arrango was the outstanding suspect in the bank robbery of the Citibank in Newport Beach (1100 Newport Center Drive) that occurred on February 8, 2019. Arrango was booked at the Newport Beach Police Department jail on the charge of 211 PC - Robbery.

Investigators believe that Arrango was also involved in two additional crimes that occurred on February 5, 2019, according to Rangel.
The other incidents included the robbery of a Chase Bank in Oceanside, California and the second was an attempted bank robbery of the Wells Fargo Bank in Escondido, California
