Suspect Attacked Man With Knife In Newport Beach Business, Police Say

A 32-year-old man was arrested on charges of a knife attack in a Newport Beach business last week.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — A 32-year-old man was arrested on charges of a knife attack in a Newport Beach business last week.

Adel Mohamed Saleh was charged Monday with attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment and obstruction or resisting police, all felonies, as well as two misdemeanor counts of battery.

Saleh was accused of attacking a man with a knife in a business in the 700 block of East Oceanfront on Thursday, according to the Newport Beach Police Department.

Saleh pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in the jail courtroom in Santa Ana on Monday.

He is scheduled to return to court on Feb. 6 for a pretrial hearing in the Harbor Justice Center in Newport Beach.
